VECTOR-Z, taking a closer look at ANPR

VECTOR-Z is the latest addition to the highly effective VECTOR ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Reading) family of cameras.  Based on the same reliable hardware platform, VECTOR-Z brings the option of even higher resolution, along with motorised zoom and focus.

The VECTOR integrated ANPR camera was first brought to market in 2013 and since then has proved very successful with more than 1,300 cameras shipped to date.  VECTOR was originally developed to achieve the most demanding of plate reading applications, as part of an approved speed enforcement solution.  This approach demanded a camera that could operate reliably in challenging conditions, capturing images and accurately reading vehicle registration marks on vehicles travelling at high speed.  Because this platform was powerful and reliable, it was quickly applied to a huge range of applications including Police ANPR, car park management, red light enforcement and many more.

The new VECTOR-Z builds on the success of the VECTOR, introducing higher resolution sensors on both the scene overview and ANPR cameras, combined with motorised zoom and focus.  This makes VECTOR-Z even easier to configure and use, particularly in applications where flexibility is needed around the working distance or field of view.

Combined with world class number plate reading libraries for virtually every international format, VECTOR-Z provides a fully integrated camera device that is ideal as a stand-alone ANPR camera, or as part of a larger integrated traffic monitoring solution.

In applications where an overview image is required on a dark road, Vysionics has also introduced VECTOR-IR, a new synchronised Infra-Red (IR) flood light that allows the overview camera to capture a clear image of the vehicle on a completely dark road, without washing out the number plate read from either the ANPR or the overview image – this is a unique feature for an integrated ANPR camera and supports a range of enforcement applications.

Geoff Collins, Sales & Marketing Director commented “VECTOR-Z further broadens the range of ANPR applications that the VECTOR family can deliver.  This is our most flexible and easy to use camera yet and will be ideal in applications where ease of setup is key”.

VECTOR ANPR cameras are currently operated in dozens of countries, reading millions of number plates every day.  To date, over 1,300 VECTOR cameras have been delivered in the UK and overseas.
