The U.S. DOT’s Connected Vehicle animation receives two awards

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Connected Vehicle animation has won a 2015 Silver Telly Award and a 2015 Communicators Gold Award for excellence.

Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards is the premier award honouring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and web commercials, videos and films. The Telly Awards annually showcases the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. The Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected national and international competition and receives over 12,000 entries annually from all 50 states and many foreign countries.

The judges rate each entry on a 10-point scale. Generally, entries with a score from the judges of 9.0 or higher are awarded a “Silver Telly” statuette, the highest honour. Entries do not compete against each other. Rather, they compete against a high standard of excellence. Each year, the judges consist of a group of highly qualified advertising, production and other creative professionals. Judges are from all regions of the United States, representing large and small firms including advertising agencies, TV stations, production houses and corporate video departments.

The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program honouring creative excellence for communication professionals. Founded by communication professionals over a decade ago, The Communicator Awards is an annual competition honouring the best in advertising, corporate communications, public relations and identity work for print, video, interactive and audio. This year’s Communicator Awards received thousands of entries from companies and agencies of all sizes, making it one of the largest awards of its kind in the world.

The Communicator Awards is sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms.

The Connected Vehicle animation was developed by the Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program office to illustrate the safety, mobility, environmental, road weather, and emergency benefits of connected vehicles. The animation was produced with contract support from Booz Allen Hamilton.
