Only 1 week left to submit to the ITS European Congress in Glasgow

There is only 1 week left to submit Technical, Scientific, or Commercial Papers or Special Interest Session proposals for consideration to the ITS European Congress in Glasgow to be held in June. If you haven’t done so yet, please submit now!

Deadline: Wednesday 13 January, 2016

Submissions are open for Technical and Scientific Papers for either traditional presentations or interactive sessions. Authors intending to be considered for the Commercial Papers category can submit their paper for a commercial theatre session. Authors can upload their paper and subsequently update if needed after the review. We recommend to submit as much content as possible (up to 10 pages) to allow the reviewer to judge your paper appropriately.

ITS experts are also welcome to submit Special Interest Session proposals for the programme of the ITS European Congress.

Topics, guidelines and requirements for all paper and session categories can be found in the Call for Papers brochure on the congress website www.glasgow2016.itsineurope.com

About the 11th European ITS Congress 2016

The Congress will take place from 6 to 9 June at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) a short walk from the City Centre on the banks of the River Clyde.

The Congress theme is “Delivering Future Cities Now” and is based on Glasgow’s pioneering work on Smart Cities which recently resulted in a £24M award and is based on the City’s and Scotland’s long history of innovation in Intelligent Traffic Control which started in 1967 with Europe’s first computerised traffic control system.

The event consists of an extensive exhibition, with an adjacent area for live demonstrations and a programme of high level and technical sessions providing the opportunity for the industry’s experts and political leaders to discuss current issues both formally at over 100 sessions and more informally during an extensive social programme.

The City’s Lord Provost will also invite Mayors of other European Cities to attend a Mayoral Summit to engage in a high-level discussion on  transport and integrated solutions that concern the leaders of these cities.

The 11th European ITS Congress 2016 is proudly organised by ERTICO – ITS Europe in partnership with the European Commission, and hosted by Glasgow City Council and Transport Scotland.

Visit Scotland, the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC), ITS United Kingdom and the Glasgow City Marketing Bureau strongly support the event.

What is the ITS European Congress?

ERTICO – ITS Europe is the organiser of the ITS Congresses in Europe together with the European Commission. According to where the congress is held, ERTICO works closely together with the local host organisations and public authorities in the preparation of the annual ITS European and World Congress and Exhibition when held in Europe.

The Congresses provide the ideal opportunity for all stakeholders to come together, discuss and make the necessary contacts to move initiatives forward and to develop their business by exhibiting and demonstrating state of the art ITS solutions. The Congresses also showcase the latest ITS achievements from the city and region hosting the Congress, and can help increase awareness of ITS in the Host region itself.

The ITS Congresses consist of three main areas; Congress programme (sessions and presentations of the latest developments in ITS), Demonstration (showcases of current ITS technology being developed and deployed throughout the world) and Exhibition (exhibition booths and dedicated sessions/events). Participating in these three areas offers a unique opportunity to show and explain the latest technologies and services, with a slightly different focus for each.
