KTA Signs Deal so KTAGs Will Work on Texas Tollways

Kansas travelers who own K-TAG transponders to pay tolls for the Kansas Turnpike will be able to use them in Texas. Kansas Turnpike Authority CEO Steve Hewitt says it’s an important step toward nationwide use of K-TAGs.

“Customers tell us they want more convenient travel between states and on other tolling systems,” said KTA’s CEO Steve Hewitt. “We are excited that this agreement brings us one step closer to offering that.”

The agreement has been signed, but the KTA says more has to be done before Kansas transponders to pay tolls work on Lone Star State tollways. They hope Texas can have the work done so the K-TAGs can be used in that state in early 2017.
