Jason Barnes Joins H3B Media
H3B Media is delighted to announce that Jason Barnes, one of the most respected journalists in the ITS sector, has joined the company in a senior editorial position. Jason, who first worked with Thinking Highways editor Kevin Borras at Jane’s Information Group (now IHS) in the late 1980s, has been appointed as Associated Editor of Thinking Highways, which will also see him write a regular column in both regional editions of the magazine, and as Editor of H3B Media’s new interactive digital title, THx.
Says Jason: “The traditional, hard-copy magazines, for any number of reasons including editorial policy and pagination, often fail to cover some of the issues which nevertheless have major effects on the ITS/smart transport space. THx will provide an opportunity for those topics to be aired and addressed. It will also recognise that there is an increasing desire for interactivity and less reliance on the written word as a means of communication. The written word will remain an important element of the new launch but subscribers can also expect to be able to access information by a whole host of other means.”
Thinking Highways editor-in-chief Kevin Borras said: “We are really pleased to get Jason on board. It’s not just his writing skills and contacts that make him a fantastic addition to the team, but his deep knowledge of the ITS industry and more pertinently how it works has significantly strengthened our position in the marketplace. This is the third time we have worked together and I am very much looking forward to seeing how Jason takes THx forward. THx will be his project and he will be able to shape it into what he wants it to be. If his track record in ITS is anything to go by, it will be a high quality publication.”
THx will be available in electronic, rich-media format for smartphones and tablets and also in a more traditional PDF version for viewing on PCs and Macs.
