Japanese Ministry Introduce Driverless Car Panel


Honda, Nissan and Toyota are among the manufacturers on the panel according to a report.

Japan’s Ministry of Economy Trade and Industry has set up an industry panel to study driverless cars, reports the Nikkei.The Ministry is reported to be concerned that driverless car technology in Japan lags US and European technology.

The Japanese panel will consist of car manufacturers and car parts manufacturers. Among the six car manufacturers are Honda, Nissan and Toyota and among the parts manufacturers are Renesas, Denso and Panasonic.

The target is said to be to start tests on public roads in 2020.
