FLIR ITS opens new office in Singapore

The new office in Singapore

FLIR Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), the ITS business unit of FLIR Systems, has strengthened its presence in the Asian-Pacific ITS market by opening a new office in Singapore.

The new FLIR office in Singapore will be headed by Koen Soenens, Business Development Manager, Asia Pacific – Middle East. Koen has gathered a vast sales and business development expertise in the ITS market with FLIR Intelligent Transportation Systems and with the former Traficon International nv.

“Being present in a central location in Asia Pacific will help us to better support our customers in the region, as well as in the close-by Middle East,” comments Koen Soenens. “In addition, being physically closer to our customers and prospects, we will also be able to expand our business and find new projects.”

FLIR Intelligent Transportation Systems offers intelligent technology that helps traffic authorities monitor and manage traffic streams. Be it for monitoring motorists and pedestrians in urban areas, for detecting incidents on highways and in tunnels, or for traffic data collection purposes, FLIR intelligent detection and monitoring solutions enhance traffic safety and mobility on a daily basis.

FLIR’s ITS division has built up a strong presence in the Asian Pacific and Middle East regions, and can present some recent successes there as well, including the installation of TrafiCam vehicle presence sensors for Jakarta and Surabaya, Indonesia, incident detection and traffic data collection technology for the EMAS program in Singapore, and incident detection modules for the Marina Coastal Expressway (MCE) tunnel project in Singapore and the Sheikh Zayed tunnel in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
