Connectivity, Proximity, Mobility

ITS Canada CEO Rob Shirra looks forward to his organisation’s yearly coming together

ITS Canada is pleased to announce that our 2016 Annual Conference and Exhibition will be held on 1-4 May 2016 in Calgary, Alberta at the Coast Plaza Hotel and Convention Centre.  The conference will feature over 35 exhibitors and a strong technical program entitled ‘Next Generation ITS: Connectivity, Proximity, Mobility’.

The 2016 Gala Dinner will feature our Annual Awards Program and will announce the winner of a new award: the ‘Young ITS Canada Leadership Award’ to be presented to the under-40 member who has demonstrated the strongest leadership contribution to the industry and the association over the past several years.

Last year, at the 2015 Annual Conference in Gatineau, Quebec, ITS Canada introduced our vehicle showcase, as a complementary initiative to the popular exhibit floor that is annually filled to capacity with vendors. Vehicles featured in Gatineau included the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA) Connected Lexus SUV, featuring the next generation QNX-Car operating system, and the IMS DriveSync Fiat 500. The showcase also served as the official launch point for phase 2 of the Connected Vehicle/Autonomous Vehicle research program, a partnership between the Ontario Ministries of Transportation and Economic Development, delivered through the Ontario Centres of Excellence.

Coming this May in Calgary, ITS Canada is expanding our complementary initiative into a ‘Vehicle Showcase & Technology Sideshow’. An expanded number of vehicles will be on display, alongside new technologies of interest to the ITS community, including 3D printing.

SHOWTIME

Plan to join us for ‘Next Generation ITS: Connectivity, Proximity, Mobility’. Our roster of captivating keynote speakers and informative technical sessions will once again be anchored by a sold-out trade show exhibition. On the show floor you will find the latest in ITS products and related technologies.

ITS Canada Conference attendees and exhibitors both annually anticipate the ideal networking environment our unique forum presents. Look for new ways to produce and manufacture, and new ways to utilize and optimize – both within and beyond ITS at our expanded ‘Vehicle Showcase & Technology Sideshow’. I look forward to welcoming you to Calgary on 1 May 1
